Oil Change
How often should I get an oil change?
Most modern vehicles with synthetic oil can go 5,000 to 7,500 miles between oil changes. Older vehicles using conventional oil should change every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Check your owner's manual for your specific vehicle's recommendation.
What is the difference between synthetic and conventional oil?
Synthetic oil is engineered to perform better at extreme temperatures, resist breakdown longer, and protect your engine more effectively. It costs more upfront but lasts longer between changes. Most newer vehicles require synthetic oil.
How long does an oil change take?
A standard oil change at Motoro Cars takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. We also perform a complimentary multi-point inspection during every oil change to check your vehicle's overall health.
How much does an oil change cost in Miami?
Our synthetic oil change starts at $29.99 for conventional vehicles. European and diesel vehicles may cost more due to higher oil capacity and specialty filters. We always provide the price upfront before starting work.
Brake Repair
What are the warning signs I need new brakes?
Common signs include squealing or grinding noises when braking, a pulsating or vibrating brake pedal, longer stopping distances, and the brake warning light on your dashboard. If you notice any of these, get a brake inspection right away.
How much does brake repair cost in Miami?
Brake repair costs vary by vehicle and the work needed. A basic brake pad replacement typically starts around $150 per axle, while a full brake job with new rotors can range from $300 to $600 per axle. We offer free brake inspections and provide a detailed estimate before any work begins.
How often should brakes be replaced?
Brake pads typically last 30,000 to 70,000 miles depending on your driving habits, vehicle type, and driving conditions. Miami's stop-and-go traffic tends to wear brakes faster than average. Regular inspections help catch wear before it becomes a safety issue.
What types of brake pads do you use?
We use ceramic and semi-metallic brake pads matched to your vehicle's specifications. Ceramic pads are quieter and produce less dust, while semi-metallic pads offer stronger stopping power for heavier vehicles. We recommend the best option for your specific car.
AC Repair
Why is my AC not blowing cold air?
The most common causes are low refrigerant due to a leak, a failing compressor, a clogged condenser, or a faulty blend door actuator. In Miami's heat, AC systems work harder and fail more often. We offer a free AC performance check to diagnose the issue.
What is the difference between an AC recharge and AC repair?
An AC recharge simply adds refrigerant to your system. If your system has a leak, a recharge is a temporary fix. AC repair addresses the root cause — whether that is a leaking hose, a bad compressor, or a faulty condenser — so the problem does not come back.
How long does AC repair take?
A simple AC recharge takes about an hour. More involved repairs like compressor replacement or condenser repair typically take 3 to 5 hours. We provide a time estimate along with your repair quote so you can plan accordingly.
How much does AC repair cost in Miami?
AC recharges start around $150. Compressor replacement ranges from $500 to $1,200 depending on the vehicle. We provide a free AC performance check and a written estimate before performing any repairs so there are no surprises.
Transmission
What are the warning signs of transmission problems?
Watch for delayed or rough shifting, slipping gears, transmission fluid leaks (red or brown fluid under your car), a burning smell, or the check engine light. Catching transmission issues early can save thousands in repair costs.
How often should transmission fluid be changed?
Most manufacturers recommend a transmission fluid change every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. However, this varies by vehicle and transmission type. Check your owner's manual or ask our technicians for your specific vehicle's recommendation.
Should I rebuild or replace my transmission?
It depends on the extent of the damage and your vehicle's value. A rebuild is often more cost-effective and restores the transmission to like-new condition. A full replacement may be better for severely damaged units. We will give you honest advice on which option makes the most sense for your situation.
Engine
What should I do when my check engine light comes on?
Do not panic, but do not ignore it either. A steady check engine light means something needs attention soon. A flashing check engine light means pull over safely and call for service — it indicates a serious issue like an engine misfire. We offer free check engine light diagnosis at both locations.
Why is my car overheating?
Common causes include low coolant, a failing water pump, a stuck thermostat, a clogged radiator, or a bad cooling fan. Miami's heat puts extra stress on cooling systems. If your temperature gauge is in the red, pull over and turn off the engine immediately to prevent serious damage.
What causes strange engine noises?
Knocking usually indicates a problem with the fuel system or engine bearings. Ticking can be low oil or a failing lifter. Squealing often points to a worn serpentine belt. Any unusual engine noise should be inspected promptly to prevent small problems from becoming expensive repairs.
Tires & Wheels
How often should I rotate my tires?
Tires should be rotated every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, which usually lines up with every other oil change. Regular rotation ensures even wear, extends tire life, and maintains proper handling and traction.
How do I know if I need a wheel alignment?
Signs you need an alignment include your car pulling to one side, uneven tire wear, a crooked steering wheel when driving straight, or vibration at highway speeds. We recommend an alignment check annually or after hitting a significant pothole or curb.
When should I replace my tires?
Replace tires when the tread depth reaches 2/32 of an inch, or if tires are older than 6 years regardless of tread depth. In Miami's frequent rain, good tire tread is essential for safe stopping and hydroplane resistance. We can check your tread depth during any visit.
Locations & Service Area
Do you serve customers from Hialeah, Kendall, Coral Gables, and Brickell?
Yes. We serve drivers from across Miami-Dade County including Hialeah, Kendall, Coral Gables, Brickell, Miami Beach, Aventura, and surrounding areas. Our Wynwood location is central to most of Miami, and our Doral location is convenient for west Dade residents.
Is there parking at your shops?
Yes, both locations have free customer parking. Our Wynwood shop has a dedicated lot on site, and our Doral location has ample parking directly in front of the shop.
Do you offer a shuttle or ride service?
We can help arrange a ride within the local area for customers dropping off their vehicle for longer repairs. Ask about availability when you book your appointment or drop off your vehicle.
Do you work on all vehicle makes and models?
Yes. Our ASE Certified technicians work on all makes and models — domestic, Japanese, European, and Korean. From Honda Civics to BMW 7 Series, we have the tools, training, and experience to handle it all.
