Check Engine Lights

Why does my check engine light keep coming back on after I clear it?

If your check engine light keeps coming back after you clear it, the underlying problem was never actually fixed, and the car's computer is re-detecting the same fault. Clearing a code with a scanner only erases the stored memory; it does not repair the failing part. Once the engine runs its monitors again, the same fault returns and relights the warning. This is common with EVAP leaks, oxygen sensors, catalytic converter codes, and misfires. Repeatedly clearing the light without diagnosis just delays the real repair and can hide a worsening issue. At Motoro Cars in Miami, our ASE-certified, AAA-approved technicians use computerized diagnostics to find and fix the true root cause so the light stays off for good. Call Wynwood at (786) 634-2002 or Doral at (786) 633-3220 to stop the cycle and get a lasting repair instead of a temporary reset.
