Why is my check engine light on but the car runs fine?
A check engine light that is on while the car seems to run fine usually points to an emissions or sensor-related fault that has not yet affected drivability, such as a loose gas cap, a slightly worn oxygen sensor, an EVAP leak, or an early catalytic converter issue. Just because you do not feel a problem does not mean there is not one developing, and ignoring it can let a small, affordable repair grow into a major one. The light could also mask an intermittent issue that will get worse. The only way to know is to scan and interpret the stored code. At Motoro Cars in Miami, our ASE-certified, AAA-approved technicians use computerized diagnostics to read the code and tell you whether it is minor or needs prompt attention. Call Wynwood at (786) 634-2002 or Doral at (786) 633-3220 to find out what your light means.
