What does code P0102 or a MAF sensor code mean?

Code P0102 means the mass airflow sensor is sending a signal that is too low, which tells the engine computer that incoming airflow readings are out of range. The mass airflow sensor measures how much air enters the engine so the computer can deliver the right amount of fuel. Common causes of P0102 include a dirty or contaminated MAF sensor, a failed sensor, an air leak, or a clogged air filter. Symptoms include rough idling, hesitation, stalling, and poor fuel economy. Sometimes cleaning the sensor resolves it, while other times the sensor needs replacement. A computerized diagnostic reads live airflow data to confirm the cause. At Motoro Cars in Miami, our ASE-certified, AAA-approved technicians test the MAF sensor accurately before replacing it. Call Wynwood at (786) 634-2002 or Doral at (786) 633-3220 to get your P0102 code diagnosed and smooth out your engine.
