Check Engine Lights

What does code P0455 mean?

Code P0455 means a large leak has been detected in the evaporative emission control system, which manages fuel vapors. The most common cause is a gas cap that is loose, cracked, or missing, so checking and replacing the cap is the first and cheapest step. If the cap is not the issue, a large EVAP leak often points to a disconnected or cracked hose, a stuck-open vent or purge valve, or a damaged charcoal canister. Because a large leak is usually easier to find than a small one, a smoke test quickly reveals where vapor is escaping. At Motoro Cars in Miami, our ASE-certified, AAA-approved technicians use computerized diagnostics and smoke testing to locate the exact leak. Call Wynwood at (786) 634-2002 or Doral at (786) 633-3220 to fix your P0455 code and stop fuel vapors from escaping.
