Where is the OBD2 port located in my car?
The OBD2 diagnostic port is located in nearly every vehicle made in 1996 or later, and it is usually found under the dashboard on the driver's side, near or just below the steering column. It is a trapezoid-shaped connector with 16 pins. In some vehicles it may be hidden behind a small panel, near the fuse box, or under the ashtray, but it is always within about three feet of the steering wheel by federal requirement. Once you locate it, an OBD2 scanner plugs in to read your check engine light codes. Reading the code is only the first step, since accurate interpretation requires professional tools and training. At Motoro Cars in Miami, our ASE-certified, AAA-approved technicians use computerized diagnostics to pull codes and test the underlying components for a precise diagnosis. Call Wynwood at (786) 634-2002 or Doral at (786) 633-3220 to schedule service.
