Suspension Repair FAQ

What are the signs my suspension needs repair?
Common signs of suspension problems include a rough or bouncy ride, the vehicle pulling to one side, uneven tire wear, nose-diving when braking, clunking or knocking sounds over bumps, and a feeling of looseness or wandering while driving. If you hit a major pothole in Miami, you should have your suspension inspected immediately.
How do Miami's road conditions affect my suspension?
Miami's roads are notoriously tough on suspension. Heavy rain causes potholes to form quickly, construction zones are constant, and speed bumps are everywhere. The combination of heat-expanded roads and frequent flooding means suspension components wear out faster here than in most cities. We see more premature suspension failures in Miami than almost any other repair.
How long does a suspension repair take?
Suspension repair time varies by the component. Replacing shocks or struts typically takes 2-4 hours. Control arm replacement is 2-3 hours per side. Ball joints and tie rods are usually 1-2 hours per side. A full suspension overhaul can take a full day. We always provide a time estimate before starting work.
Is an alignment included with suspension repair?
We strongly recommend an alignment after any suspension repair, and we include it in our recommendation for most jobs. Replacing components like tie rods, control arms, or struts changes your wheel alignment geometry. Driving without a proper alignment after suspension work will cause rapid and uneven tire wear. We'll always let you know if an alignment is needed.
