Why is my AC compressor running constantly?
An AC compressor that runs constantly without cycling off can indicate a stuck compressor clutch relay, a faulty pressure sensor, or a control module problem, though in extreme Miami heat some continuous running is normal. The compressor is meant to cycle on and off to maintain the right pressure and temperature, so if it never shuts off, a sensor or relay may be stuck commanding it to run. This extra workload increases wear, hurts fuel economy, and can lead to premature failure of an expensive part. On the other hand, on a brutally hot day a healthy system may run longer to keep up, so context matters. At Motoro Cars, our ASE-certified technicians monitor compressor cycling and electrical signals to tell whether it is a fault or just the heat. Serving Miami from Wynwood and Doral, we protect your compressor from unnecessary wear. Call (786) 634-2002 or visit motorocars.com.
