Why does my brake pedal pulsate when I stop?

A brake pedal that pulsates or throbs when you stop is most often caused by warped or unevenly worn brake rotors. As the pads grip the uneven rotor surface, the varying thickness pushes back against the pedal in a rhythmic pulse you feel through your foot, sometimes paired with a shaking steering wheel. Rotors warp from excessive heat, hard braking, or uneven pad deposits, and Miami stop-and-go traffic accelerates the process. Occasionally the cause is a sticking caliper or improperly torqued wheels. Depending on rotor thickness, the fix may be resurfacing or replacement along with fresh pads. Because pulsation affects braking smoothness and confidence, it is worth addressing. At Motoro Cars, our free brake inspection measures rotor runout and thickness to confirm the cause. Our ASE-certified techs in Wynwood and Doral can fix it. Call Wynwood at (786) 634-2002 or Doral at (786) 633-3220 today.
