Do I need to replace rotors when I replace brake pads?

You do not always need to replace rotors when you replace brake pads. Rotors can be reused if they still meet the minimum thickness specification, show no warping, and have a smooth surface free of deep grooves. If the rotors are worn thin, warped, or scored, replacing them is the safer choice because mismatched surfaces cause noise, vibration, and uneven pad wear. Some rotors can be resurfaced, but modern rotors are often thin from the factory and replacement is more reliable. The right answer comes from measuring, not guessing. At Motoro Cars, our free brake inspection measures rotor thickness and runout so we only recommend new rotors when they truly need it. Our ASE-certified techs in Wynwood and Doral give honest advice. Call Wynwood at (786) 634-2002 or Doral at (786) 633-3220 to book your free brake inspection.
