Is it safe to drive with squeaky brakes?

Driving with squeaky brakes can be safe or risky depending on the cause. A short squeal in the morning or after rain is often just surface rust on the rotors and clears after a few stops, which is harmless. But a persistent, high-pitched squeal usually means the pad wear indicator is contacting the rotor to warn you the pads are nearly worn out. Ignoring that warning lets the pads run out entirely, leading to grinding, rotor damage, and longer stopping distances. Since brakes are a critical safety system, a constant squeal is worth checking promptly rather than waiting and hoping it goes away. The only way to know for sure is to measure the pads. At Motoro Cars, our free brake inspection tells you exactly what is causing the noise. Call Wynwood at (786) 634-2002 or Doral at (786) 633-3220 today.
