Why does my steering wheel shake when I brake?
If your steering wheel shakes or vibrates when you brake, the most common cause is warped or unevenly worn brake rotors. As the pads grip an uneven rotor surface, they cause a pulsing that you feel through the steering wheel, usually at higher speeds. Rotors can warp from excessive heat, hard braking, or normal wear, and Miami stop-and-go traffic accelerates this. Other causes include a stuck caliper, worn suspension parts, or unbalanced tires, so an accurate diagnosis matters. Sometimes rotors can be resurfaced, but if they are below minimum thickness they need replacement. At Motoro Cars, our free brake inspection measures rotor runout and thickness to find the exact source of the shake. Our ASE-certified techs in Wynwood and Doral can fix it the same day. Call Wynwood at (786) 634-2002 or Doral at (786) 633-3220 to book.
