What does the ABS warning light mean?
The ABS warning light means your vehicle's anti-lock braking system has detected a fault and may be temporarily disabled. Your regular brakes usually still work, but the anti-lock feature that prevents wheel lockup during hard or wet stops may not function, which matters in rainy Miami conditions. Common causes include a faulty wheel speed sensor, low brake fluid, a damaged sensor wire, or an issue in the ABS control module. If both the ABS and the red brake warning lights come on together, that is more serious and you should have it checked right away. Because the system is computer-controlled, a proper scan tool is needed to read the trouble codes. At Motoro Cars, our free brake inspection includes scanning for ABS codes to pinpoint the problem.
