What happens if I don't replace my brake pads?

If you do not replace worn brake pads, the consequences escalate quickly. First the pads wear down past the wear indicator and start squealing, then once the friction material is gone, the metal backing grinds directly into the rotors. This grinding scores and destroys the rotors, turning an affordable pad job into a much costlier rotor and pad replacement. More seriously, worn pads dramatically increase your stopping distance and can lead to brake failure, putting you and others at risk, especially in wet Miami conditions.
