Why is my brake warning light on?
Your brake warning light can come on for several reasons, and some are more urgent than others. The most common causes are an engaged parking brake, a low brake fluid level, worn brake pads on vehicles with sensors, or a problem in the hydraulic system. If the red brake light stays on after releasing the parking brake, it often points to low fluid from a leak or worn pads, which needs prompt attention. When the red brake light and the amber ABS light come on together, the issue is more serious and the vehicle should be inspected right away. Because you cannot tell the exact cause from the dash alone, a proper check is important. At Motoro Cars, our free brake inspection includes scanning and checking fluid, pads, and the system.
